About me and why Storiascopio
Storiascopio was born from a gap: in Italian there was no ready-made timeline, from the Big Bang to today, that you could stretch with your finger and that followed the school history curriculum, from Prehistory in primary year 3 to the 20th century in lower secondary year 3.
The timelines you find online often start from the year 1000, or are empty tools to fill in yourself. Here there are already 300 events, each with its card, its source and “why it matters”, plus quizzes and worksheets to print, for free. Now they are in English and Spanish too.
I wanted it to be more than a story of kings and wars: next to the battles there are inventions, works of art, the way people lived and many women and men who changed things.
The site is built with artificial intelligence and checked by me, card by card. I am not a historian: if you are a teacher and you find a mistake, or you would like one more event, write to me. Every correction makes the line better for everyone.
Other sites I have built: Atlante dei Miti, Honest Toolkit, Bestiepedia, Nonnese, Oplaland. My portfolio is at cirosimoneirmici.com.
